How can anyone truthfully say,
"There is no evil in this world!"
When all around us one can see
Such sordid deeds unfurled?

Have you heard a baby's angry cry
When not the center of mother's attention?
Have you not known gossip or ridicule
To spark animated dissention?

Have you seen a child retaliate
To a sibling's minor affront?
To read reports of criminal acts
One need not long to hunt!

Adults are so quickly antagonized
When they feel they've not gotten their share...
And how many cheat on taxes or tests
Or for poor and needy don't care!

Innocent people have often succumbed
To an early, unmerited fate...
And countless wars have been waged
As a result of greed and hate!

There are many living in today's world
Who fill young minds with pollution --
Women and men sell their bodies and souls,
And purists suffer persecution!

By radio, in filmdom and on TV
Our minds are daily bombarded
With homosexuality, sex, infidelity
And ideas for murder imparted!

What a world of iniquity available now
With the computer and ability to view...
Its diet of pornography tempts old and young,
With its vulgar chat rooms, too!

"No evil," you say, "exists today?"
What's right for one, for another may be wrong?
No, to preserve the right, we must have absolutes...
For this my conviction is strong!
