Dream Interpretation and Mans Ways

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that he had forgotten—like most of us—and he wanted to have someone remind him of it and give the interpretation. Why was this important? He was loosing sleep over it and it continued to trouble him during his waking hours. The king called for all the sorcerers, magicians, astrologers, the Chaldeans to come before him and tell him the dream and interpret it for him. They could not and said there was nobody on earth that could do it. That wasn’t what the king wanted to hear. He told them that unless they did what he asked he would have them killed and destroy their houses.

When the king’s men got to Daniel and told him that he and three friends were to be killed also, Daniel said [in today’s language], “Wait a minute. It isn’t going down like this.” Daniel then went to tell his companions what was about to happen and that they needed to go before the King of Kings—the real God—and get what was needed. They did.

Chapter 2 vs 14-16 (Book of Daniel) says, “Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon: He answered and said to Arioch, the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation.”

Rule #1—Let God’s peace be with us at all times.
Rule #2—Don’t let man’s haste get in the way of God’s review
Rule #3—Take everything to the Lord in Prayer and Supplication
Rule #4—Thank the Lord for His goodness, mercy, and deliverance from calamity and every blessing!

They prayed and Daniel received the answer he was seeking!

Vs 20-23, “Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings he giveth wisdom unto the wise; and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.”

Daniel then goes before King Nebuchadnezzar and tells the dream and interpretation, which was a terrible sight. Be sure to read the entire chapter!

Note—Daniel knew then as we know today—GOD allows leadership in every country of the world and removes them accordingly. Every leader is under the direction of God. He has told us in Proverbs that HE saves evil for our (mankind) day of chastisement and judgment. He is the God of love and the God of wrath.

So to answer the question, “Where is God in this matter of destruction?” (Take any situation you want to ask.) And the answer is, “Where is God in your heart!” Is He there at all—and more importantly—which God or god—is there?

Evil is about to blast (literally) again upon the earth. It will be multinational in scope and it will be greater than man can imagine—unless—we, like Daniel and the Israelite companions, take the matter before the Lord of Lords and King of Kings and seek His face.

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” [physically and spiritually]

Are you among those who fear death before the king—or a believer who knows where your help comes from? For me and my household—we will serve the Lord.
