Does the Lord need to speak
in a thunderous voice
to get our attention?

In the cacophony of life,
how gains He intervention?

Sometimes, we need to hear Him speak
To strengthen us when we are weak.

Sometimes, for comfort in times of sadness,
To let His Word restore our gladness.

At times, His just rebuke to bear...
But to be assured that He does care!

To hear God speak, in times like these,
We hear Him best upon our knees.

When we come to Him in a place apart
And quiet the noise within our heart.

God speaks to us in a voice so still
And breathes to us His holy will.
