I met a man that I must declare was the most repulsive, selfish, person that I’ve met among man.
Yet this man has been partaker of God’s beautiful mercy, the same mercy on which I’m able to stand.

As life’s day passed I met another man who at times had the most hateful spirit I’ve witnessed among mortal men.
But this man is also a recipient of God’s marvelous grace that washes him clean from all his sin.

Later in the day I met another man that was so un-caring, the likes of which I’m not sure I’ve witnessed before.
But this man had evidence he had been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, of that I am most sure.

Around noon I met another man whose thought life was so corrupt, I’m not sure it was capable of producing one good thought.
Yet the price was already paid in full, and accepted by this man, thus this man’s redemption was already bought.

Shortly thereafter I met another man whose carnality seemed to far excel any man that I’d ever saw.
He claimed to put his faith in the finished work of Calvary, no longer condemned by God’s Holy Law.

In the evening I met one last man who at times lacked compassion to others to a level almost shocking to man.
But this same man was showered with compassion by the Lord of all mankind according to God’s wonderful plan.

At night I reflected on these introductions, and the appalling conditions that I met all these contemptible men in.
Then the Lord opened my eyes of understanding showing me each person more clearly, and in each case I was them.

The repulsive, selfish man was me, the man with the hateful spirit, the man that was so un-caring, they were all clearly me.
The man that had the corrupt thought life, the carnal man, the uncompassionate man all were reflections I could clearly see.

How vile I am and undone before one that has been so kind, faithful, forgiving, and gracious to this filthy man that I now see.
And yet he still takes time to condescend to my lowly estate to teach and remind me of his work he performed on Calvary.

How can I not take my stand with him in this life and let others know I’ll serve him regardless of the cost.
Lord help this man not to be a coward in the face of opposition, but gain strength to stand by thoughts of my Lord Jesus on the cross.
