Similar to the disciples, the Lord constrained me to get into this undesirable, often avoided ship.
For there was a mighty and strong storm a brewing and he knew I needed shelter for this much unwanted trip.

As my ship was in the midst of this Sea of Trials the wind did blow, and the waves in might and without mercy did beat.
The only safe place was to stay still, low in the bow of the ship, looking to hold onto my Savior’s feet.

He came out to me, right in the midst of the storm with me as I was filled with anguish, almost overcome with fear.
He pressed on my heart that all would be well, but I must stay on the ship, and hope for him to come near.

The Lord spoke words of pity, and comfort. He assured me that as long as I stayed with him there was no reason to be afraid.
Yet I was afraid, so I knew at that point in time I had not yet passed this test with an acceptable grade.

As long as my eyes were fastened on him all was calm, even though all around were contrary winds, and boisterous waves.
Yet with the Savior was peace in the midst of this treacherous storm, for Jesus alone has salvation, and the power to save.

Safety was in the ship, but peace and calm were nigh unto me for to be in Jesus presence is safety, and peace.
I beckoned to my Lord, and wonderful Savior, Lord if it be thou bid me come unto thee.

All was fine, until I removed my focus from the Blessed Redeemer, and cast them back on my storm, and trials.
As I thought to be swallowed alive by this overwhelming storm the Lord lifted me up, and bid me be aware of Satan’s wiles.

The Lord in the most tender of mercies has been my stay, guiding me ever so gently through storms in safety and indescribable peace.
As it was then, so it is now in every instance I only need to call out Lord if it be thou, bid me come unto thee.

When at first I was placed on this ship, in the midst of this tumultuous storm there was no light at the end that I could see.
After seeing God’s hand in my life I now embrace this time trial for he has proven all I need do is call Lord if it be thou bid me come unto thee.

Only the Lord knows what my future holds, and it could be more storms so large in size that I would faint if I knew what awaits me.
If so, then I beg the Lord now to help me remember then to look for him in the storm, and cry out Lord if it be thou, bid me come unto thee.
