Poetry
As Jesus went to Jerusalem he passed through Samaria, and also Galilee.
Entering a certain village he met ten lepers from whom all others would immediately flee.
Whether out of shame or fear I know not, but for whatever reason they stood from afar.
They lifted up their voices in desperation to their only hope, was the Bright, and Morning Star.
They all appeared to cry aloud Jesus, Master, Will you Have mercy on us.
Pride being removed far from them, they were at the place we all need to be, laid in the dust.
When Jesus saw them, he simply said to them, go shew thyself to the priests.
It came to pass as they went that they were all cleansed from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet.
There was one, and only one of them that when he saw that he was healed.
He turned back and with a loud voice glorified the merciful God to whom he had just appealed.
He fell down on his face, prostrate at the Son of God’s most lovely feet.
Giving him thanks, and praise, this man being a stranger, not a Jew that done this deed.
The other nine I guess they kept running, until they finally came to their own houses.
Spiritually dead, but yet physically healed, while this one stranger was spiritually aroused.
I also was a stranger, in a foreign land that had forsaken the Lord, and covered with an incurable disease.
Always I was standing afar off from Jesus, always tormented by my condition, never any ease.
I still know not what made me cry aloud to him for mercy on that dark, sin filled night.
My enmity in the past had always won these battles, but on this night it put up very little fight.
I also was laid in the dust giving glory to God that night, one that previously was a complete stranger.
I also was made perfectly clean that night as he plucked me as a brand from the fire of my imminent danger.
The other nine that were with me that night they kept running in the opposite direction from the one I now serve.
Not one of them was as filthy as I was, so I have no problem knowing that this mercy to me was undeserved.
The same question can be asked of me now, were there not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?
I know not, but I do want to take opportunity to praise, and glorify your lovely name one more time.
