i was sitting in our Pastor’s class on strongholds, when he mentioned seeing things from the vantage point of Jesus. It made me think about the above verse.

i had just come home from 8 hours of driving during a short vacation. Upon arriving, we found that we were having problems with our internet account again. Therefore, the lifeline for some of our family members had been severed.

Since this seemed to be a regular thing, every time we returned from being away for a few days, i was ready to call them and SET THEM STRAIGHT!!!! i was doin' the macho thang - BEIN' ANGRY!!! Yes, that's it, huff and puff and blow the internet away. Grrrrr ...

Then i hear the Lord mention the above verse and suddenly the wind in my huff ceased to puff and i was struggling for air.

So, what was the mind of Christ? Well, we all know the verses, and in a nutshell, it was putting everything else aside so He could carry out the Father's will. Some example i was, trying to convince the world that i had a grip on reality and everyone else was WRONG!!

It sure took me back to square one ... quickly. i recognized that i still have some areas which need some work and a lot of God's grace.

So, the next day i got up and said, "I will have the mind of Christ!", and proceeded to fall flat on my face. The truth is, i cannot have the mind of Christ without loving the Christ. i cannot be like Jesus until i love Jesus. Somehow that almost seems too easy, but that is what He is calling us to. Simply a life surrendered to Him, so He can do ALL the work through us. May we love Him more every day, so He can pour out more grace upon us.
