I had attended a Christmas party where the place was blazing with colorful lights, huge Christmas tree, loud music, laughter, games, dance and food! The dining area was filled with a variety of delicious food! There was outstanding wine, all kinds of desserts, i could smell the hot chocolate, freshly baked bread and roasted turkey! Just the smell made my stomach growl ! Everyone sat down for dinner and i was hearing everyone chit chatting along with the cluttering of the plates! The ladies were talking about the money spent on their clothes, makeup, handbags and stuff like that! On the other side the men were talking sports, news and girls! Everyone had a good time and it was time to leave! we wished each other MERRY CHRISTMAS and a man dressed as Santa Claus came to each one of us and gave us Christmas presents! later we bid everyone goodbye and started back home!

While i sat in the comfort of my car listening to the music being played, i saw through my car window a woman and a little boy sleeping on the foot path, literally shivering in that cold night! Alongside that woman sat two little boys who were hastily eating a single loaf of bread each! Looking at the way they ate their food, it felt like it was the only meal they had for that day! It disturbed me! Here i was just out of a party where there was such lavish food for everyone and now i see children with no food or shelter! I was sorry and it pained me! I just kept thinking about them all my way!

At home i questioned myself! What is Christmas? why is it celebrated?

After reading the Bible and doing some research came the answer!

Dear friends, Christmas is not just Decorating trees, candle lights, Santa clause or partying! God is not bothered about what you wear or how you look! He doesn't care about your shoes and your wine! But GOD wants something else!

Now i'm not against Christmas trees or Santa Claus! But we must let people know what is important! I felt that Christmas tree and Santa Claus have been given so much of significance that it is overshadowing the real purpose of Christmas! Everyone knows that but many do not know why Christ was born and what was his purpose! we as his children must know God's purpose and do what he expects from us!

Real Christmas is praising GOD for coming to the earth for us, remembering his sacrifices and blessings that God gave to the humans, serving and helping the poor and needy, forgiving one another and Spreading God's love! And this must not be done just during Christmas but always forever as Children of God! Now you decide how you want to celebrate your Christmas!

Finally What is What:

1) Christmas tree : Evergreen Conifer pine tree is used as in winter what is evergreen becomes a sign of undying life, and it reminds Christians of the "tree of life" genesis 2:9, image of Christ, supreme gift of God to the the humanity! (Pope John Paul 2004)

2) Santa Claus : Saint Nicholas liked seeing the smiles of children and so he secretly gifted them during the month of Christmas. This tradition has been following since centuries now!

3) Candle: candle lights remind us of Christ! candles burn themselves to give us light, similarly, Christ was hurt, tortured and crucified to give us life!

wishing you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a blessed new year.

much love

P.S REFERENCE
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed! Proverbs 19:17

Mathhew 25:43-46 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

And he will answer, 'I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.'
