There is coming a time when money will be replaced globally. We already live, to a large degree, in a cashless society. People make transactions electronically through credit, debit, and ATM cards. People put their confidence in their investments. They monitor Wall Street on a daily basis. It looks good to have an investment portfolio. Their investments depend upon a bull or bear market. Then there is the matter of gold and silver, which journalist Michael Snyder said "Americans...are feverishly stocking up on..." Ads on television give a viewer all of the reasons why this is a good choice for the future.

How much will money in the bank, wise investments, and gold or silver matter in the long run? There is coming a time in the future when none of these things will be of any value. It won't matter how much cash you have saved up, how well the stock market is doing, or how much gold or silver you have. Your level of wealth will be meaningless.

I am not a financial expert, but I have read what the experts are saying. It is obvious, too, that things are shaping up in a way that could easily bring all of this about. People are saying that the pattern is repeating itself for another stock market crash in September of 2015, but this time it will be worse than the one in 2008. Some people in the "know" are apparently stocking up on basic necessities. So, what about gold and silver? This brings us to what the Bible says about future events.

At some point during the Tribulation Period spoken of in the Bible, a dramatic change will occur in the way the world conducts its economic activity. The present monetary system will no longer be in use. There will be a one world leader in charge who will set up a new way of doing things, which is summed up in Revelation 13:16-18. "And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, and he provides that no one should be able to buy or sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man, and his number is six hundred and sixty-six."

There you have it. Whether a person is a president or a peasant, free or in slavery, no one will be able to buy or sell without the mark. Plastic cards won't work. Gold and silver will be useless. Two options will be the same for each person on Plant Earth. Either get the mark and be under the control of a new world order and dictator in order to buy and sell, or don't, and be on your own to survive. It is not a pretty picture either way! Isaiah 10:3 says, "...To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth?"

If you say this really won't happen because it is some fairy tale from the Bible, wrong. Things prophesied in Revelation and other places in scripture are already being fulfilled, literally, It would be wise to assume, therefore, that this will be also. What the "mark" refers to is not really the point here. How soon will all of this happen? No one knows; it will occur at some time within the Tribulation Period. The way things are going it would be safe to assume that it could happen within this generation.

A better question to ask is, how can you be prepared? Many Christians believe in a supernatural snatching away of all true believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior before things get this bad. What if Christians are still here at this point in the Tribulation? And what about those unbelievers who are left behind?Think about it!
