The Wine of the Spirit

Scriptural reference:

And wine that makes glad the heart of man - Psalm 104:15a
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit - Ephesians 5:18
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise him - Psalm 28:7
Afterward you will come to the hill of God where ... you will meet a group of prophets ..... prophesying. Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man - 1 Samuel 10:5-6

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, .... there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. ..... And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying ......we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.” - Acts 2:1-13

Sermon:

Beloved, desire to be filled again with the new wine of the Spirit. It will do you good.

One benefit of drinking the wine of the Spirit is that it will make you full of joy. Psalm 104:15 says - Wine gladdens the heart. If the natural wine can make a man happy and make him forget his sorrow, How much more the wine of the Spirit. Joy will naturally flow from your heart when you are drunk with the new wine of the Spirit. Your sorrow will just fly away. Show me a Spirit filled Christian and I will show you one that is full of joy.

A second benefit of the wine is that it will make you strong. When you become joyful, the joy will produce supernatural strength (Nehemiah 8:10b).

A third benefit is that it empowers you to Prophesy. We see this In the book of Samuel (1 Samuel 10:5-6), when Samuel instructed Saul to go meet the company of Prophets. There He became filled with the wine of the Spirit and began to Prophesy. We also see this in Acts 2:1-13 when the Holy Spirit came upon 120 disciples of Christ and they began the declare the wonderful works of GOD in tongues. They were actually full of new wine but not with natural wine. They were drunk with the wine of the Spirit.

A fourth benefit is that it will make you unusually bold. After the disciples of Christ drank the wine of the Spirit, they became unusually bold. Peter who had denied our Lord Jesus before, was quickened and stirred by the wine and became a vocal leader of the Church.

I encourage you to desire the new wine. It will refresh you, energize you, empower you and restore you. You will dance and sing a new song. You will become a new person. You will become spiritually high and would be able to defeat your enemies. GOD will give you all round victory and you will enjoy all round rest in Jesus name. Beloved, it shall be well with you. If you believe, shout - Hallelujah!!!!!!

Prayer: Father GOD, I ask that you fill me again with your new wine. I pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
