Frank Bruni, a journalist with the New York Times, recently stated that traditional Christianity is the main obstacle toward the acceptance of homosexuality. He said, "The continued view of gays, lesbians, and bisexuals as sinners...prioritizes scattered passages of ancient texts over all that has been learned since." Well, Mr. Bruni, The Ten Commandments are an ancient text, and one does not have to be a sociologist to know that if our society lived by them we would all be better off.

Mitchell Gold, the furniture tycoon, said Christian churches "must be made to take homosexuality off the sin list."

These two men have made themselves to be experts in theology and conservative Christian thought. That, they are not. They also do not understand that the convictions about traditional marriage and heterosexuality are not only biblical teachings, but are inherent in Christian character. They are two of the beliefs that make Christians-Christians.

While some consider conservative Christians intolerant, the gay community has their own "bible" called the New Queen James Version. It changes the portions of scripture that speak against homosexuality, to bring them into conformity with their beliefs.

Children that have been raised by same-sex parents are beginning to speak out against it, saying it would have been better to have a mother and a father. Isn't it interesting that one of the Ten Commandments is to honor one's father and mother?

I am surprised, Mr. Bruni, that as a journalist you do not know about the gay "bible" or the feelings of these children. Or, have you chosen to simply ignore these facts?

No, Mr. Gold, conservative Christains will not be made to accept homosexuality as part of God's plan. We won't bow to the whims of people like you. We will stand firm in the teachings of the Bible that are still relevant for today.

Dr. Ben Carson is right when he said that homosexuality is a choice. There is no medical or scientific evidence for a "gay gene." Even if there was such a gene, what would have caused it to become so dramatically prevalent within the last several years?

Now, gentlemen, let's talk about the threats. It's not the Christians who are sending hate mail and making death threats. It's the gay community. They do it to even their own if they transition back into the straight life.

There is coming a day, however, when all people, both gay and straight, will be made to bow before the Creator. Philippians 2:10-11 says "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and one earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
