The Art of Mothering

To some, it was given the gift to use a skillful brush or pen.
Some were given the power of influence and leadership of men.
Still others have the ability to lift their voice and sing, but
Most precious are those who have developed-The Art of Mothering.


Not in it for the glamor or glory, nor for the great wages earned.
Not even for the sheer delight, or for timely lessons learned.
These women have learned to do without, and give every earthly thing
For those who are so dependent upon-The Art of Mothering.


So on this day, we give thanks to God for this precious treasure given.
And to those who work ceaselessly, and by love alone, are driven.
Our love and appreciation, now to you we humbly bring,
For letting us reap the benefits of-The Art of Mothering.


So often our mothers are the victims of impatience and neglect.
When really, we should be giving them our love and our respect.
More honor is given to other callings, more praise for some other thing.
BUT BLESSED IS THE ONE WHO TRULY KNOWS-THE ART OF
MOTHERING.
