Jesus, You came into my life at a time,
When I was in such desperate need.
Of a kind word, a warm smile,
An understanding heart and loving deeds.

Your love, You gave to me freely,
From the well-spring of your soul.
You looked deep within and viewed me,
As one needing to be made whole.

I was a trapped butterfly,
Bruised and in need of healing.
Your touch released the beauty in me,
Gave me courage and set me free.

You gave me joy and renewed strength,
Your love and wonderous things.
But for a time, I soared away in flight,
To test and stretch my wings.

You determined in your mind and heart,
That by the power of your Word.
My wandering would soon end,
Gently,You called, your voice I heard.

And so unto You, I returned again,
To the true source of my being.
Never more to leave you,
My Shepherd, my Lord, and my Friend.
