How they race and chase across the sky
Like children playing tag
Or games of peek-a-boo,
Hiding faces of the sun and moon,
So now you see them, now you don’t.
I’m mystified by myriads of colors in the clouds,
How they mutate from soft-pillow white
Atop blue coverlet
To iridescent rainbow hues
And evening sunset golds
And the gray of a gloomy day.
I’m baffled by the cloud forms that I see,
How it is that they convert from ordinary shapes
Of cats and dogs and bunnies and birds
To dinosaurs and monsters,
And then dissolve and magically meld
Into things not recognized.
I’m curious how when clouds drop rain,
The pattern is so varied,
From sprinkles sloshing over carelessly filled cups
To a steady stream that comes from kitchen faucet
Or torrent that cascades down waterfall
As if from bucket, flung from furious hand.
But God is never puzzled by the clouds,
They’re just a tiny part of His creation.
Like everything else that He has ever made,
They’re constantly in His complete control.
I wonder if He gives clouds names
Like once He did the stars.

I was just playing a trivia game and was surprised how much clouds weigh. I guess its all the water they hold.
