There are many amazing dishes here on display, tonight. And here comes the King; Who will taste each one. First, He approaches the plate from Mr. Luke Warm, the famous Southern chef. It’s identified as Pheasant with Truffle Sauce. I’ve heard that’s so rich it would charm any palate. The King appears to be savoring each bite. As always, Luke Warm is sitting in his comfortable chair and acting as though the King’s reaction means little to him, but we all know that’s an act.
Right?
Well, if the King prefers something spicy, the next entrée is Miss Fun Attick’s Paella Habanero. I’ve heard that can make your mouth feel like a fiery furnace. And of course, Miss Attick is wearing her “I Love the King” T-shirt, with her matching King necklace. Our King does seem to enjoy the dish, and doesn’t seem at all phased by its spiciness.
Moving on, we see the King checking out Mrs. Hippa Critt’s latest concoction. Why, it’s a scale model of the King’s Palace: sculpted entirely of mashed potatoes and gravy. That is absolutely amazing! But, oh, dear! The King took one scoop and it became clear to all that the inside of the creation is completely hollow. And where is Hippa Critt? It seems she has disappeared from the Banquet.
Our next dish is most impressive. It was created by none other than Miss Farah See. Why, if I didn’t know better, I’d say this food was crafted of gems and gold. It shines and glows like a royal treasure. A fitting dish for a King, I’m sure! Miss Farah See has once again shown the public devotion she is so famous for. Why, I’m sure we all can recall my interview with her, yesterday, when she revealed how thankful she is that she is not like less fortunate people. She told us of the countless hours she spends in the Kings’ Court, and how always attends to her devotions. Well, the King doesn’t seem impressed by her food, but if Farah See isn’t the one honored by the King, I don’t know who could possibly be….
Goodness, folks! I’m not sure what to think of this next item. I didn’t notice this at all; in the shadow of these most impressive dishes. Incredibly: the next offering is a simple loaf of bread! Who would have the audacity to insult our King with such substandard fare? Ladies and gentlemen, I have no idea who this person is. The crowd is whispering. They’re saying he is a common laborer, in a local bakery! How could he imagine our King would want a lowly loaf of bread; when He has so many more appropriate offerings to enjoy?
Oh, but our King has SUCH a generous heart! They say He actually favored the upstart with a few Kingly words. Let me find out what He said. What? Oh, that can’t be right! The King couldn’t have said that! Let me get closer and find out, for myself.
Well, folks: I stand stunned and corrected. As I got closer to the King, I found some who had witnessed the exchange between Him and that – that person. They all agree when the baker spoke to the King, he bowed his head and asked Him for mercy - and our King graciously granted it. And then…
Why, I can hardly say it. They say the King told everyone that baker’s humble loaf of bread had meant the most to Him; of all the sumptuous foods prepared here, today. Something about it coming from the heart – of all things!
Folks, I’m seldom at a loss for words, but I find myself wanting to learn more about this astonishing turn of events. After all, if all this wondrous fare; from such devoted chefs is less pleasing to our King than a simple loaf of bread, what does that say about our King – and about us?
This is Joe Mahler – leaving you to form your own conclusions.

“Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank Thee that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:10-14 (RSV)

Loved the cooks' names too!
Well done.
; between scholar and coming
; between event and ever
; between dish and in order
and you omitted the word "you" as.......
These are the things that stood out; you followed the same system throughout.
It was such a good piece that I felt sorry for what to me was distracting.
Trying to be helpful,not critical
