What awesome descriptions. You have a gift of transporting me through time and space. And then the ending... Totally loved it. My only red ink would be to not use as many exclamation marks. For me it changed the atmosphere some, which may have been intentional since you were gazing into puppy dog eyes, not with them. ;) My warm smile turned into a delightful snort. You are brilliant, simply brilliant. Congratulations on ranking 13 overall. Happy Dance! (This is in one of my all-time favorite list, and there's only a handful of poems on that list.)
I should have picked up on the clues, but was delighted with the surprise at the end. This was fun!
