to go to the lion's den,
to the infamous one,
to the one most feared.
It could have been a trick,
a trap set up,
soldiers ready,
arrest assured.
I could have said “No”,
covered my eyes,
blocked my ears,
got on with my life.
This call on me,
clear as a whistle,
straight from the Lord,
could not be ignored.
“Ananais,” He said,
and I knew His voice.
without a doubt.
But it's what He said...
How could I go,
to the butcher,
to the jailer,
to my death?
But His voice it was,
His instructions precise,
and the reason,
beyond dispute.
I gathered my cloak and went,
to the street called Straight,
and He went with me,
to Saul.
I placed my hands on him,
and my fear disappeared,
my brother this was,
so I prayed.
And his scales fell away,
his sight was restored,
he was filled with the Spirit,
and I knew...
That I had been used,
I had been blessed.
as I trusted,
as I obeyed.
