I wonder what God thinks when He
Reviews my manuscript,
Where all the pages of my life
Are open for review.

When He examines chapters
Of my living composition,
No matter what my actions show,
He’ll understand my heart.

Writing notes within the margins
For my inconsistencies,
He will comment with corrections
For the parts I need to change.

I know He’ll notice paragraphs
That wander from the theme
Of loving others as He first loved me,
Then gently draw me back where I should be.

I’m fearful in my folio
He’ll find some bad omissions
And jot down what it is I’ve left undone,
With notices of places to rewrite.

Already He has blotted out
Of His great Judgment Book
My every sinful passage
Through the power of Jesus’ blood.

I trust Him now implicitly,
Because of His great love,
To edit out the shameful words
For sin that I confess.

My lines are His by grace possessed;
My plots are His design.
Regardless of what others think,
It’s His critique I seek
