With bold prophetic dreams.
He shared them with his family,
Which fueled evil schemes.
His father, Jacob, gave to him
A coat of many colors.
This added to the enmity
Between him and his brothers.
They made a plot to murder him
Because of jealousy,
But God had other plans in mind,
And that was not to be.
From slave to trusted officer,
The Lord was right beside him.
Accused, betrayed, imprisoned, freed—
God’s steadfast love would guide him.
Through Joseph’s trials, his character
Was being formed for good,
And thus, the choices that he made
Were just the ones he should.
God kept His holy hand on him
In every situation.
Because of steadfast perfect love,
God caused a transformation.
One day, at last, it came to pass;
His dreams were all fulfilled.
The bad his brothers meant for him
Became the good God willed.
This story teaches us to know
God’s with us in each test.
We’re confident His purposes
Provide for us His best.
