There’s a chink in my armour
Unraveling mail
Breastplate transparent
Impending fail
Barefoot on minefields
Sword useless in twain
Shield slipped from my grasp
I battle in vain
Head exposed to the weapons
of onslaught and grief
I crawl through the heartache
and beg for relief
One word to the Master
Wings swoop to my aid
They carry me forward
A dire ransom paid
The ramparts of glory
shine brightly and now
I train in His service
At His feet I bow
The armour of God
has no weakness or tear
but girds me with strength
Protects with great care
One thing is for certain
in training to fight
The weapon essential
holds true in the night
When bringing the truth
of the Word to your lips
in prayer to the Father
the enemy’s ships
Sink fast and sink well
in the drink like a stone
This weapon prevails
This one alone
