The flower stood there, blooming in a dirty ditch, its loveliness so magnificent, yet so out of sync with its surroundings. I couldn’t help just standing there, admiring it. I glanced up the hillside and noticed that way up high; barely visible beyond its fence; sat a large estate surrounded by a very exquisite and manicured garden. I just knew the seed for this lone, displaced flower came from there.
I continued staring at the flower, pondering its fate. “How sad” I addressed it aloud, “that you have been brought down into this filthy ditch. Your beauty seems so wasted blooming here, where at best you must be noted with a glance by most, deemed worthless by so many and where few will likely ever pause to ponder the wondrousness of your tender face. What a shame you should have had to sacrifice the majesty of your plush, well tended bed, to root your toes in the world’s runoff.”
Suddenly, the wind bent the flower, leaning it down into the midst of a clump of the weeds surrounding it. I feared it may get tangled there, but I was wrong. It quickly raised its head high again.
I continued my lament of the flower’s situation, “How sad, that you have had to be brought down here, so far outside the garden gate, to hug weeds that threaten to choke you out and maul you. Yet, what a marvel you are, standing there in the mire, holding open your gentle petals, patiently waiting to offer your gold to the few who will take notice.”
I paused in silence—in reverence, a few minutes more, etching the scene, the encounter, the vision, the precious flower into my memory before reluctantly turning to leave. I knew, through that flower, God had just shown me an example of His grace, through Jesus. And I left wondering how many would pass by that flower, before season’s end, and never notice and never see.

God is amazing How he does it all, and something as simple as a flower amidst weeds, we're able to hear Him loud and clear.
Beautiful job. Loved it...so poetic and hauntingly beautiful in its simplicity, yet powerfulin its content.
Thank you for this.
God bless~
