With faith it stays within its lane
And once above the cloudy sky
The pilot knows just how to fly
And when I sleep in railroad cars
That zip beneath nights filled with stars
I’ve every hope I won’t derail
And topple down a hill or dale
The years I shifted cute imports
And then the soccer-mama sorts
It never seemed to bother me
The danger fraught with turn of key
I’ve swum where others lost their lives
And handled axes and sharp knives
I’ve run with scissors like a dope
And slid down every slip’ry slope
I’ve eaten sweets and had caffeine
Survived my childhood and my teens
Gave birth to one who bounced with joy
And though he’s grown, he’s still all boy
In all the things I must depend
And trust to be not foe, but friend
Without a blink or teensy doubt
There’s countless ways I step right out
When elevators heed my call
I never think how they might fall
Or if a rainstorm blows a gale
I do not worry over hail
The thought we’d have a Noah-flood
And end up with a home of mud
Does briefly flit across my brain
With news of others loss and pain
But then the sun comes out again
And danger stays what-might-have been
I take more trips on sea and street
And trust in all the odds I’ve beat
I know that God takes care of me
And is just Who He said He’d be
There’s nothing on this earth to kill
My soul, my spirit, or my will
The body is another thing
It creaks, it fails, it yearns for wings
Our only way to get around
Made up from dust--goes back to ground
We all are waiting for, “Who’s next?”
To see if God will tweet or text
Or touch us gently on the hand
Or send sweet angels in a band
Until I take that final trip
I will not jump…abandon ship
I’ll sail through storms with faith unchecked
And find those GREAT things I Expect

I loved it all but one of my favorites is the last part-"Until I take that final trip
