And pound relentlessly.
Without a fight, the sands retreat,
Accepting their defeat.
Once anger of the waves is spent,
They lap shore tenderly
To heal her deepest wounds.
Then sea and shore, together now
In peaceful rest, bask side to side,
Beneath sun’s tranquil rays.
The clouds make implements of war
To hurl on helpless earth,
And land lies mute, defenseless, still,
Against their icy missiles.
When fury of the clouds abates,
They send a gentle rain,
Erasing marks of armaments,
Restoring calm again.
The storm winds bring hostilities
To rage against the trees,
Which bend their boughs in agony
Before their vengeful foe.
Once havoc of the winds has ceased,
They whisper new alliance.
Through torn and twisted leaves are made
Negotiated terms
Of temporary peace.
Satanic demons war on man,
The crown of God’s creation,
But all who place their trust in Him
Are safe within His care.
The devil has no power to win
Against God’s matchless strength,
And in That Day when Christ will reign,
The demons, all destroyed,
To mar His world, there'll be no war,
Just peace forevermore.
