Technology took their places,
A keyboard and fast flying fingers,
write words with rhythms and paces.
Remember those old love letters,
With beautifully worded writing?
Penmanship flowed in those days,
Made reading much more exciting.
Now I can barely sign my name,
For the practice my fingers lack,
I attempted to write a grocery list,
The items were hard to read back.
In days gone by I hand wrote notes,
Ink flowed through my finger tips,
Made it so much more personal,
As if to come straight from my lips.
Once I read a wonderful story,
Written by pen and on paper,
Words created to dance and sing,
Swirling and whirling to taper.
Back then the words spoke volumes,
By the hand of the unknown writer,
The picture he painted was awesome,
His handwriting made it much lighter.
Ah, we have it easy today,
We type and copy and print,
Still, I often long for a letter,
Like mail from the snail is sent.
On second thought, I love to type,
Why should I rant and complain?
Though my fingers no longer fit a pen,
They are better for less of the strain.

Seriously, though, you did a great job with this piece. The imagery is vivid and you bring your words to life. They do dance and sing and speak volumes for you in this entry.

However, I did enjoy reading this poem and thought it flowed nicely. You hit the nail on the head that our handwriting gets poorer the more we spend typing. Sometimes I can barely read my handwriting.
You also ended it well, making note of how typing puts less strain on the hands. I admire those that can write poetry. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing!
God Bless!
