She was sad, angry, and miserable wanting to know how "this could happen to someone like me?" Karen was a devoted wife. She had many dinner parties in her beautiful four bedroom home. The majority of them were for clients that her husband entertained to further his career. She did it all with love and dedication. His success was in large part due to Karen's finesse and handling of his clients. She was instrumental in his climb up the ladder.
So, imagine her shock when she left work early due to a very bad migraine and walked in on her hubby with his secretary. Obviously, her life took a dramatic turn from that point on. I called her many times during this transition. And, there were times she didn't want to go on. She was angry and resentful of many people, and at times questioning her Christianity. It was an entirely different person that had emerged in the aftermath of their acrimonious divorce.
Until one day, we met for dinner and I noticed my tank was low on gas. She was in my car when I got out to fill-up, I gazed down and made an amazing discovery. There were huge cracks in the pavement with nasty looking weeds.
But in the midst of the weeds was one beautiful deep pink flower! I tapped on the window and pointed at it for my friend to take a look. She did,and slowly broke out into a big smile...she knew what I meant.
We always discussed God and how He brings you to where He wants you to be. And, this flower was proof. God wanted this flower to bloom right there where he placed it. And, He expects the same from us.
I got into the car and immediately Karen said, "Wherever I plant you, there you shall bloom." I nodded to my friend, grabbed her hand and said, "God is with you Karen and although your life has changed abruptly...he never left you, so bloom my friend bloom.
And bloom she did...eventually meeting her new hubby in the small apartment complex. They married, had twins, and have been together for over 25 years.
God knows best and His plans are always good...

My only suggestion is that you stated the circumstance twice and maybe think about how you could just weave it all in one telling. God Bless
In the process of reading your piece, you sent me scurrying to the dictionary to look up "acrimonious." Thank you for broadening my vocabulary.
