What a well crafted story. It held my interest all the way through. I really got the feel of a simpler time and a small country village. Nice done!
Oh I enjoyed this. I could easily see it on an episode of Little House.

My only red ink is Widow was used as part of her name and should have been capitalized.

This was a great story. I would really enjoy reading more of these characters. Nice job.

It was like reading a family history story of my own people. Very personal and appealing. Good job!

I like how you how you used the word 'astonishment' as the spelling word as well as the storm taking them by surprise. I thought this was going to be a sad ending, but was "astonished" to see it was, in fact, quite the opposite! A lovely entry, well done.

I really enjoyed this. Simpler times of by-gone days often seem so romantic but this is a picture of an all too often reality. This was so well written and engrossing beginning to end.
