My mind swings far to the left of center,
Radically indifferent to stark reality.
From deep within a clarion cry bursts forth,
It can be done.
Determination beckons me to embrace the impossible.
Hope shoulders my weakness, strengthens my resolve,
Fells the field of uncertainty,
Calms the winds of adversity.
It can be done, for now an empty canvas,
Awaits the first strokes of possibilities,
Potential shapes, forms and brilliant color,
That transform the unknown.
Unyielding words, etched in courage, sweep across the horizon
of inevitability,
Emblazons my spirit, empowers me to believe.
An indomitable spirit that rests on the will to prevail,
That hopes to find at the end of a road less traveled,
A Victor's reward.
It can be done rejects the idle place,
Refuses to sit out the crisis, to avoid the challenge,
To tap dance around hard decisions,
To wander in the wilderness of wistful thinking,
Where doubt lurks, a blood thirsty predator,
Seeking to destroy the will and the well of hope
That springs eternal from deep within.
It can be done leaves predictability and
acceptability behind.
Coasts in the murky waters of extreme pursuits,
Aware of danger, yet unafraid
To float on uncharted seas, untried, untested,
Or flirt with the negative.
Like an innocent virgin,
Seeking pleasure, but accepting pain,
I am forever beholden to the rebel in me.
