That letter needs to be sent. Next week starts exams. Students won't be ready. I need to review.
She forced herself to feel the fragrance of the flowers blooming around her. The lilacs brought happy memories of hiding under their branches as a child. She had laid for hours watching the sunlight trickling through the branches dance like fairies.
Jill's dance recital is soon. Too soon. Got to buy that new outfit. Budget's a bit tight.
Clouds strolled by as carefree as a trusting child playing with her father. Her own father used to sit with her and find shapes in the sky. They would watch as ducks and alligators would peek out from behind elephants and dinosaurs. Those few minutes felt like hours.
Two minutes more and it will be time to cook. What should we have? Leftovers are gone.
Michelle sighed and pushed herself up from the chair. She wondered if should would ever be able to really loosen the anxiety in her mind. Even when she found five minutes to wind down, she couldn't.
Her daughter bounced up to her and grabbed her leg. "See, Mommy, the wind is blowing the trees. Mommy, how do you know wind is real if you can't see it?"
Before Michele could consider an answer, her daughter questioned again. "Did you know that Jesus said that we are to be like the wind? My teacher told me." She grabbed a piece of apple and hopped over to the sandbox.
Michelle muttered herself, "Like the wind...Carefree? Or Like God's Spirit breathing life into us? Both, I think."
She closed her eyes and let God's Spirit blow away her worries.
