TITLE: General Electric and The Battle of The Bulge | Previous Challenge Entry

I could name it in a single hum
a wordless song that hit it’s mark
straight to my stomach and I cried yum!
The Hummer, no other than General Electric
cold and manipulating with an icy claw
pulled at me with his incestuous drone
a tug of war with the turkey and slaw.
Entrenched in lust for fattening foods
my will power no longer a deterrent
as the General hummed Smore songs
some oldies and others more current.
I imagined a "Midnight Concession"
so I began to pray for help from above
but melted as he hummed a tempting tune
my favorite, “Come And Get Your Dove”.
My enemy had of course the smoked gun
baby back ribs, knowing my appetite they trigger;
the General was winning the Battle of the Bulge
hummed “Build Me Up Peanut Butter Cup” go figure!
His final tune, a chorus of "Taps", I was finished
celery, carrots, that’s all I had in rations,
then he squeezed in a few more bars
I doubt you’ll see me wearing this summer’s fashions.
