The Greatest Healer

A doctor is a marvel
At curing your diseases.
He diagnoses symptoms;
Your suffering he eases.

He gives relief from pressure
For aching that is chronic,
Prescribing pills or powder,
A tincture or a tonic.

He fixes bones and muscles,
And he cuts out whatís not right.
His treatments make you better,
So you rest again at night.

Thank God for all the doctors
With earnest dedication,
Who strive to conquer illness
With care and medication.

For all a doctorís talents,
There are some things he canít do.
He canít mend a broken heart
Or restore your faith to you.

He canít free you from your guilt.
He canít wash your sins away.
He canít give eternal life
Or grant hope for each new day.

But Jesus is the Healer
Sent to you from God above
To heal you from sin sickness
With His everlasting love.

He will free you from your guilt.
He will wash your sins away.
He will give eternal life
And grant hope for each new day.

Oh, I love this! What a beautiful reminder of where our Hope truly lies.

Poetry is definitely not my forte, but this flowed so well and the cadence is so consistent and balanced. On top of that, the message was wonderfully constructed.

Usually if a poem doesn't flow well in the first stanza, I don't continue, but this one sucked me in and, before I knew it (or wanted) it was over.

Yes, the appealing flow of your rhythm and rhyme carries us right into the beautifully made point at the end. Very well done!
