as I march along in time.
All the things I've done in life
are standing in this line.
I will have to face each one
surrendering to their will.
Knowing my sinful life caused
my helplessness to be real.
Every time I try to stop
I hear laughter in my mind.
The control I am lacking
is consuming all my time.
The sadness that I am feeling
has cast out all of my tries.
The biggest fool of all times
brings tears into my eyes.
I drink from my broken cup
that does not quench my thirst.
Flounder like a ship at sea
my situation grows worse.
My mortal sins have eaten
all the things I tried to save.
The weight is growing heavy
pulls me slowly to the grave.
As I wandered down the street
I heard somebody saying.
“I found God the other day.
We talk while I was praying.”
I could not understand him
as he spoke about the King.
He talked about forgiveness
and all the joy it will bring.
You sins will be placed as far
as the east is from the west
It lifted up my spirits
made me feel my very best.
It was so hard to believe
it could be as easy as that.
My sins will be washed away
I'll have help in the combat.
All I do to receive this
ask Jesus into my heart.
Give Him control of my life
let Him be the biggest part
I found Jesus gave His life
All my sins He washed away.
I'll stand before my Father
and this is what He will say.
I understand your problem
the weakness you are feeling.”
He touched my life so gently
my soul has begun healing.
Now He is part of my heart
He's in everything I see.
Replaced my cup, thirst is gone
he's done all of this for me.
Now my cup is overflowing
spilling out His precious love.
He shows how my life will be
it now fits me like a glove.
So do you have a burden
that you can no longer bear?
Place it in his loving hands.
You'll find he really cares.
