In these Night Seasons, which I called them, none of my tears proved to move the Lord. This was when my flaws taunted me, and the heavens seemed blocked to my cries. It was then that I learned of what stuff I was made. The humdrum, everyday routine had a way of bringing out the "natural man" with all of his fallen nature. Living out the loving way of Christ was not as easy in the night season as it was in the day. It seemed then that God had hidden from me, watching from afar as I reached blindly for His presence hidden in darkness.
God requires of us in the night season, that which we promise in the day. As a young Christian, it was easy to serve the Lord joyfully and walk in His love with those around me, when I could feel the warmth of His presence. The true test of my commitment came when His presence seemed far away, and I was left alone in testing, with only the echo of the promises I had made to Him in our times of intimate fellowship. Then, just as the weight of my own failure to walk in "the more excellent way" (1 Cor. 12:31, KJV) became too much to bear, the Lord Jesus would enfold me again in His mighty presence and I would be found in the light of day.
This training process continued for years like a pendulum swinging side to side, until I became more established in His word. Then, the Lord began to wean me, as I was able to make out His presence even in the darkness of night. Today, after years of following after Him, I live more closely by the word found in Psalm 139:11-13 (KJV): "If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yes, the darkness hides not from thee; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins.”
When God created the heavens and the earth, he gave to us the seasons. Now, there is a time for everything under the sun, but when God establishes His Kingdom, as it says in Revelation 22: 4,5: “And they shall see his face, and his name shall be in their foreheads, and there shall be no night there and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light and they shall reign forever and ever.”

He wants us to be close to him and he has to show us that just because we have trials (James 1:1-9) he is the closest to us growing us to be more like the messenger we are to be to the world. A Christian is a follower in the ways and likeness of Christ.
Early on when we are baptized for the forgiveness of our sin and we are given the gift of God's Holy Spirit, it is the Spirits job of leading and teaching us to understand God's word and how to apply it to our lives. This is the continue process of growing in grace and knowledge that we might be more like Jesus.
The Spirit will help grow in us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness and self-control.
Good thought and well written.
