Topic: Rattled (05/09/13)
The nations tremble; they shake. The mountains quake; they groan. The demons flee, uttering screams of anguish before the King. Creation awaits the judgment of the Lord, excited, yet terrified; longing, yet dreading the great day of His wrath. On that day all that is high and lofty will be brought down, and all that is exalted will be put to shame-He will shake everything that can be shaken.

My bones rattle; what a beautiful and terrible day of wrath. His coming is like an awesome thunderstorm, electric and majestic, yet deadly and unapologetic in its destruction. His return is imminent; it will not be slow to release His pent-up anger and long awaited chastisements. For such a day I await, yet for such a day I wail in its wake.

Oh, the glory that will be restored to the earth when He returns! Oh, the mercy that will be bestowed upon mankind as Bridegroom and bride reunite! Oh, what jealous and wounded love will be revealed as He slays the wicked with the sword of His mouth and decrees their inheritance! May I not be found amongst the tares.

I see Jesus riding on a white horse coming to judge the nations of the earth with His law. They either open their gates to receive Him and bow low before His majesty, or they lift up prideful and rebellious hearts and refuse Him entrance. Those who refuse to submit to Him are no longer found upon the earth or within His kingdom that is soon to be established.

Jesus is coming; He is coming soon. Tremble bride at His coming; quake earth at His return; repent adulterers before His reign. Learn love before He comes on the clouds and the trumpet sounds.

You have some amazing imagery woven through here and some lovely descriptions. I really enjoyed the opening two paragraphs and I think you nailed it with the description of how it will be beautiful and terrible. That definitely sounds like that is the way it will be. Nicely done, fitting it into such a small word count.

I really liked the overall tone and flow of this piece, though I was a bit puzzled at the use of the word "tare" I'm not sure if you meant for it to be that or if it was a typo. Just the same, a lovely piece. Thanks for sharing!

Your descriptions on the day of the Lord's coming, on that great and terrible day is very vivid as you shared the details from your article. I pray we will consider the consequences if we are not ready to meet our Maker when He comes back to get His bride. May our oil lamps be full. Thank you for sharing such a well constructed piece. Really good job.

Some powerful imagery and deep truths here. It may not be as topic-focused as some others, yet you did relate the rattling sound. The message is great and well written.

Yes, the upon the seventh trump...He will return. And, until then prepare for the sixth as well, which may fool a lot of the people (Rev) Good message and good approach to the topic at hand.
