A Journey’s Blessing

Bon Voyage, my dear one, may your journey be
as smooth as seas at sunset, as true as dawn’s first ray.
May every ocean’s current carry you ever on
to destinies of wonder, to lands of endless song.

May you taste earth’s treasures caressed by God’s own hand,
and feel the breezes on the wings of angels’ soaring bands.
In all your earthly travels, my wish for you shall be
that winds of wealth and golden days surround you on the sea.

Breathe in the breeze so fragrant, soft scents of timeless isles,
and journey step by step along a floral beach’s miles.
Drink in each scene’s rare beauty. Refresh in lingering there,
and may the rush of duty’s call fall silent on the air.

Close your eyes with nightfall, listening to the song
of nature’s lilting melodies adrift on evening’s wand.
Then when your heart feels yearning for those who are your own,
return on waves of hearts held dear and winds that whisper, “Home.”

A beautifull poem! Clearly expressed so many aspects of blessing on a journey. Particularly liked the thought 'and may the rush of duty’s call fall silent on the air.' That's the only way a person can have a real break! Well done! yeggy

Very lovely! Would you consider separating your lines at each pause and starting with capitals? Eg.

Listening to the song

Linda, there's probably not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Your poem was beautiful. When I read it the first time while judging Level 1, I wrote a comment next to it on my rating sheet, "Oh WOW! This melted the heart. Adorable!"
