Cookin' up some zombie stew-

"Why do you stew so much over zombies?" You might rightly ask.

"I dont know, " I might reply "Why did Jesus offer up that weird warning to the woman at the well?"

"What does THAT have to do with zombies?" you may ask again, puzzled.

Why is the prince of THIS world SO obsessed with lodging this "creature" into our culture's awareness through movies, television , pop iconography and video games?
Why are the terms "zombie" and "apocalypse" pressed together into our collective consciousness?

Satan ,the prince of THIS world ,and the prince of the air wants the world to believe that a "zombie" is this ridiculous,unrealistic, mythical, mysteriously alive creature who's consciousness has SOMEHOW been severed from their grotesque body.

Resisting the urge to use the cliche expression : " I know this seems strange BUT...", I'll just say, Heck Yeah! it seems strange and you bet your still empty zombie socks it IS strange!. But, just because something SEEMS strange, doesn't mean it's not true. THIS is the fact that lends credence to another old but true cliche that says " Truth IS stranger than fiction".

With this all being said, I will go on to say that the minions of the prince of this world have it fully in their intentions to actually tell us in effect that " Yes, we intend for you to become a zombie" (and they truly do seem to sickly savor this "in your face", yet subversive announcement strategy).
THIS "declaration" is part of Satan's required operating procedure, probably linked to him not being able to mess with our God given Free will.
In so announcing this goal, it is offered into OUR will as a free choice to either accept or reject this "zombiedom".

Of course Satan, the great deciever,usurper as usual only gives out half-truths, also known as lies.

The TRUTH IS that in God's eyes , a "zombie" is one of His beloved creatures who by some reason has given away their great GIFT from God, (their Freewill) and have had their consciousness severed from Truth ; more specifically, His moral Truth, or God's TRUTH.

Now getting back to the weird warning to the woman at the well, could it be said then?, that a modern zombie as has been defined : as a being who has had their consciousness severed from Truth. Is this being, indeed participating in a worship and almost a celebration of their OWN ignorance or "what they do not know"? The evidence certainly seems to point at this idea.

Now , look at this seemingly weirdly placed warning by Jesus to the woman at the well in John 4:22:
"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews."

My endeavors in the poetic realm have alerted my mind to the fact that a group of words can very often be saying as many as three or four things at the same time. (especially within slightly shifting contexts). Would it be any suprise then, that the Masterful Creator of THE WORD would write THE poetic,timeless masterpiece of ALL MASTERPIECES?

Looking at this verse in THIS different light really isn't much of a stretch when you consider what Biblical scholar/teacher/Pastor Dr. Chuck Missler says on his website: http://www.khouse.org/articles/1999/247/
"We should not be surprised that the Holy Spirit continually exploits puns, allegories, metaphors, similes, and other "figures of speech." (Our book, Cosmic Codes, includes a review of over 200 rhetorical devices used in the Bible!"

For this reason, I wonder, was Jesus actually also warning US of this "zombie phenomena"? Especially when taken within the context of the verses immediately following:
John 4:23-24 NASB
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (In other words, don't be like a zombie who worships their ignorance) .

We ALL seem to battle this "zombieness" every day, with the continuous lies, worldly diversion ,actual biological attacks on our brains, and the distraction that we are ALL acosted with.

I just wanted to express the concern that we should remain ever vigilant in guarding our understanding of God's Truth in these coming days .
Jesus often said " Do not be decieved". Those alerting words, I think, have never been more "red letter" than now.

This is an unique approach to this topic. The title drew me in, but your words kept my interest through the story.

It is good that we look around at the world so we are not caught up by the world.

Many things can seem right by twisting His word.

Keep thinking and then writing. we all need it.

I think you made some great points in this piece. I liked the tone you created. It was obvious you were serious, but you also made me feel like I was listening to a dear friend. Nice job.
