When a foreigner goes to a different country and tries to speak the new language, there is always some sort of a lingering accent that is quite obvious that this person is not a native. No matter how much effort they put forth at the beginning, their native language still is very apparent.
As children, we are also taught by our parents certain ways of adapting to life. We are taught what to do to please others, how to succeed in life, react to difficult situations and people, and relationship skills. All of these things we allow to form our identity. This allows our past to effect how we live life as adults and teach our children.
As adults we take the culmination of what we have learned and filter out what we think are bad habits. We take the mistakes we observed as children and try to make adjustments to prevent that from happening in our own lives. But no matter how hard we try, we tend to manifest some of the bad habits that we disliked in a parent or caregiver to the people closest to us. This is what can be called as an accent from your past.
As parents we find ourselves saying almost the exact thing to our children that we were told by our parents. Some of these remnants of our childhood are good and some are things that we have been working our whole lives to desperately detach as part of our identity.
The Good News is that God has all the answers. He is the perfect Father that is longing to help you renew your mind to get all the lies and junk out from your past and to reinforce all the good you have learned so far.
As 2 Corinthians 6:2 and Romans 5:6 declares that what was prophesied in Isaiah 49:8 that the time has finally come. We have full access to our true Father for help in filtering out all that is preventing us from receiving every blessing that was prepared for us before we were even created.
Romans 5:1-2 says, “Therefore since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through whom we have gained access by faith in to God’s grace in which we now stand and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.”
As John 4:24 says, “God is Spirit”, the glory of God is seeing His Word manifested in the physical realm. Through faith in God we can enjoy God’s grace. And grace is simply having God’s favor and empowerment to accomplish His will for your life.
To access this grace you must first have faith. And how do you strengthen your faith? Romans 10:17 says, faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God. The only way to increase your faith is to hear and read God’s Word. If you diligently seek God with all your heart, your understanding will be opened and a new supernatural world will be revealed before your very eyes.
It is actually pretty simple. Through faith we receive favor from God to accomplish His Will for our lives. The fulfillment of God’s Will for our lives will manifest the blessings that have been prepared for you were born. Ephesians 2:18 clearly says we have access to God through our spirit. We have the privilege to access our Father with boldness and confidence through the blood of Jesus as it says in Ephesians 3:12.
We were given free will to pursue this or not. We have a choice. We can hold on to the language, actions, traditions, and customs that we were taught growing up that was taught by man. We also have the privilege to read and hear God’s Word to increase our faith so we can learn from the one that created us with a special purpose. We have the ability to get rid of all the junk that we allow to come through as an accent from our past.
The choice you make determines the course of your future.
