Quite ordinary is a cup.
So we can drink, we lift it up.
Perhaps you have a favorite
And like to always drink from it.
In the Bible cups are mentioned.
To teach us is their intention.
To give a cup of water cold’
Has its own reward, we are told.
Are you able, Jesus asked,
To drink my cup as your task?
The clueless disciples said yes.
Its suffering they did not guess.
At the Last Supper Jesus said,
My broken body is this bread.
Drink this cup to remember me.
My blood is the covenant, you see.
In Gethsemane Jesus prayed
Not drinking His cup would be okayed.
Then, not My will but Thine be done.
His agony our salvation won..
We each have a spiritual cup,
In faith we need to lift it up.
Thy will be done we need to pray.
Then His face we will see one day.

There have been many stories and poems this week about Jesus' cup. Someone once told me when I hear the topic to write down the first 3 to 5 ideas that pop in my head and then throw them away as it is likely to be what many others think of too. If you do stick with one of the first ideas try to come up with an original POV.
I really did enjoy this, though. It's a message that does bear repeating and it left a warm feeling in my heart. Keep writing the messages that Jesus lays on your heart. Good job.
