Our part to simply trust Him
As in His Potter's hand,
To mold us and to fashion us
When things don't go as planned.
He's always watching, waiting,
To see how we react,
And if the oven's heat too much
The vessel will be cracked.
Refiner's fire to purify,
Removing imperfections,
To ready us for heaven's home
And earth's timely connections.
A vessel fit to bear His name,
One He can use with pride,
Our part, submission...His, to shape,
In His hands we reside.
The vessel on this Potter's wheel
Once molded, shaped, refined,
Placed in the oven of earth's woes
For work He has assigned.
It's all a preparation
For what He wants for us,
A vessel He can use with pride
If we don't fume and fuss.
