You have the right to choose for me
Anything You please,
And if my path must walk through this,
In faith my soul agrees.
I would not choose this desert place
Where I feel so alone,
My spirit parched, my soul wrung out,
This earthly vessel groans.
Discouragement has reared its head,
Frustration's on the rise,
Depression and confusion
Have led to teary eyes.
Though living life with Jesus,
His path not one of ease,
Both sorrow, suffering, He has used
To bring me to my knees.
If I would truly be like Him
I must accept His path,
And though through hardships they will lead
So sweet...the aftermath.
Walking through the desert,
Or painful thorny ways,
Will lead me to depend on Him,
His faithfulness displays.
For finally I learn to trust
His ways are always best,
My character's developed,
My soul enriched and blessed.
His methods I oft question
When troubled on all sides,
With faith and trust I look to Him
Because He still abides.
He never leaves me on my own
Though I can't hear His voice,
But I have chosen by my faith
To simply just rejoice.
He promised there'd be hard times,
The testing, yes, would come,
But, most of all, He promised
In Him I'd overcome.
