What does the cross mean to you? Said the model on the shopping network as she selling a cross necklace. I thought myself how typical every time there is a holiday coming up; someone is making money out of it. Now, that is Easter Season, merchants are selling anything Christian. I flipped the channel but there was nothing I wanted to watch. I went to the kitchen to make a sandwich. As I was eating my ham and Swiss sandwich, the model's words played in my head. I nearly choked as I realized that I have viewed something terrible. Easter Season? No, it can't be. Easter has become commercial. The Cross- the endurance of our faith has become a toy in today's society. A toy? A Man suffered an agonizing death in order to save us and yet we turned that symbol of true love into money. And we called ourself Christians? I putted down my sandwich and went upstairs to my room where my laptop was. I turned it on and started typing down my thoughts on the cross. There are no words to describe the Cross. All I know that without the cross, there would be no resurrection. Without the resurrection, there is no unity between God and us. It is the Cross sealed by the blood of Christ that binds us to God. The Cross symbolized both the goodness and badness of all humanity. It should be the first thing that you think about in the morning and the last thing you think about at night. Perhaps, I am being too dramatic, but still if I do not speak out in the defense of the Cross, then I am not a Christian.
