I see things going on that make me ill
I want to scream to the mountains
I want to shout to the skies
Lord, please come today, this world is not mine
I see a person ruining their marriage
Taking part in an affair
That will only bring havoc
His wife’s, his family’s, this way
I see the other woman thinking she’s so slick
Whiling him away
While he seems to forget
The vows that he made
The ties that bind
The children he has
The wife whom he now denies
I see the work environment
Where it has become dog eat dog
I watch people joyous
Over another one’s loss
I see the plotting, the scheming, the conniving
And I think to myself
Is this all worth dying
Leaving behind the face of the Lord
Who has been with us this day and every day forward
He brought us up not to be this way
I see Jesus’ face
I say Lord I’m sorry for all I’ve done wrong forgive me
Before I found you,
I too was one
Through your miraculous grace and glory
I know now that it is all phony
It is Satan’s to rule
I am only here
For a short time still
Praise be to Jehovah, Yahweh, Adonai
That he delivered me from sin
That I would not die
In the fiery pits of hell
Running a race
I cannot win
Without seeing his face
On that cross that day
Where he did die, my hero
My all, my Adonai!
