TITLE: Help Me, Lord By 12/19/03 |

Lord, help me not to miss the little things in life,
nor waste what others cast aside as dross.
Help me never to miss the beauty of a rising or a setting sun,
nor beauty in the rain when you’re watering your garden earth.
Help me to revel in the sun’s warm light;
and don’t let me miss the warmth of moon glow,
which reminds me that no darkness can hide from me
the never failing light of your infinite love.
Help me, Lord, to keep from failing to see your purpose
in those little stumbling stones that seem go big to me,
when I’m trying to climb upward in this troubled world.
Help me also to find happiness in the bounce of a
furry little cottontail rabbit romping through the grass,
or a squirrel on a limb cracking nuts with ease,
which I have trouble smashing with my hammer.
Help me to smile about the beauty you’ve put in a sparrow
and to be warm inside remembering the fuzzy devotion
of the dog you gave to be my special friend.
And for all the little words and smiles and blessings
you’ve given me from the hearts of my friends.
And most of all, help me never to forget for a moment,
and mostly when I’m down and feeling lonely,
that Jesus died for me. And that He lives and rules
this whole wide world with purpose;
and that He’s as real today as when he walked
this earth and fed the multitudes
and said to troubled souls, “...Come unto Me!”
That reality may seem a little thing to some,
but, Lord, it’s everything...
and I don’t want to forget it.
Help me, Lord!
