The success or failure to survive in rural areas depends on rain.
For others, a good supply of rain provides all the water we need, for household use, maintaining gardens, and the ability to enjoy a long cool drink of water, or a refreshing cup of tea or coffee. A swim in the pool or a hot shower, or spa, brings us refreshment after a long day. Many people take water for granted and think nothing of wasting it. Water restrictions are the bane of every householder, but necessary for many areas of the country, to be able to supply and adequate supply of water for household use and manufacture.
In many parts of the world, countries are lashed with heavy rain and storms. Hurricanes, typhoons, or cyclones leave a wave of mass destruction in the aftermath. Heavy flooding often destroys homes, lives and animals. Many people are devastated at this loss and give up in despair. But God gave a promise to Noah, written in His Word, to give us hope.
And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."
