I was always the shortest person in my class. Back then, when we
were lined up; we were lined up by hieght. I was always first in
line.
I can remember in recess a lot sitting by myself. I can remember
being pushed around alot. I was a little girl! No one wanted little
girls around! The other girls in my class would make fun of me
or ignore me. The boys would trip me in the hall, I got teased
and pushed around and even beat up.
I know that this type of punishment wasn't right, even back then.
It was not my fault that I was short. Why were they bothering me?
What was wrong with being short? At that age and even now I do not
comprehend what I was subjected to!
I know a lot of boys were bullied and that isn't right. Any kind of
bullying should be reprimanded and it never was, even though it was
centered towards a girl. That was in the middle sixties.
Since then, it has gotten worse. I watched on the news where
a boy punched another boy over seventeen times in London.
Seventeen times, on a school bus! All he got was four months
probation! The boy he hit got facial wounds and a concussion!
What about the boy that was wrestling with the little girl
and killed her? He got off! You wonder, why? How in the world
could the justice system let him go free?
In a way bullying is a form of abuse! I feel no matter what
age you are, if you are abusing some one, you should be
reprimanded for it! The boy that wrestled the little girl
to death, was that bullying or murder? I feel, he should have
went to jail! The boy that hit the other one seventeen times!
Imagine that! Is that bullying or abuse? All he got was
probation!
The title is bullying, but when you think about it, it is
really ABUSE!
