TITLE: ODE TO THE BULLY By Autumn Conley 08/13/04 |
|
A thought to ponder on..
I cannot speak for all bullies,
But I can speak for some.
Sometimes bullies have four wheels
And push in among the line,
Honking sometimes, flipping out,
'Cause traffic's taking time.
Sometimes bullies call at eight
While you're cleaning up the dishes
They won't get off your telephone
With their stubborn useless pitches.
Sometimes bullies make commercials
Especially in election season,
Trying to push your votes around
With promises that hold no reason.
Sometimes bullies are editors
Who love using a pen of red
They mark and sneer and laugh at your words
Till your entire piece is dead.
What is a bully, you may ask,
I've thought now for a minute,
A bully thinks they own the world
And can command whoever's in it.
