Pop! A single cell emerged out from the ovoid structure within her, the ovary. It felt strange. “What a new place?” It wondered. Slowly it was sucked in. It disappeared into a funnel like structure.
“Where am I going?” It thought as it entered into a dark channel, the uterine tube. It then stayed put there.
Somewhere else, a tiny but active cell, a sperm started swimming in a stream. Lashing its tail like a mighty fish, it proceeded slowly but surely. An arduous journey indeed.
By providence indeed, this sperm swam closer and closer to the ovum in the tube. By that time, many other sperms also joined the race to reach it.
But some how, the first sperm swam faster than all of them. It reached its goal, the ovum. It penetrated the outer layers and submerged itself into the substance of the ovum.
The two different cells, the sperm and the ovum, fused and became one cell, the zygote! That was me! Yes, I became a person in that single cell.
The Divine Creator crafted me from the fusion of just two tiny cells. What a wonder?
Just imagine. The ovum, which popped out of my mum’s ovum, was one of the 450 odd ones to do so in her life. Actually, millions of them began their journey to mature.
The victorious sperm was part of the millions, which began their journey swimming up the path. All struggling to make it to the rendezvous with the solitary ovum.
What a miraculous Creator! What a lovely design? What an intricate and mysterious design, to create me!
That’s not all.
I began multiplying. From the one cell I was, I became two, then four, then eight, then sixteen and so on. In fact, by the time I am able to write this, I have multiplied thousands of time to become a 100 Trillion-cell organism! What a glorious way to create me!
Every single cell in my body praises God my Creator today! I praise Him for my beginnings. How about you?
“ For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made….” (Psalms 139:13 & 14a.)
