There was that dreaded sound again. I was all warm and comfortable but something was calling me away. I grumbled and stumbled around and eventually found my way into the next room. I had been sleeping and my speech wasn’t as clear as it should be. My steps were unsure and my thoughts were clouded.

Then the sound of outpouring water called to me. I almost hesitantly slipped back the curtain and stepped into the chamber. At first I was reserved and lifted my only hands toward the outpouring. A little more sure, I moved closer. It was now time to make the decision. Either go in head first or step back. I chose to go all the way.

Immediately, the outpouring drenched me. And just as suddenly, I felt renewed, rejuvenated, and revived. My clouded mind became alert; my slow speech launched into a song, and soon I was stepping out of the chamber and ready to face whatever was destined to come my way.

So it is each morning as we arise to meet the new day. In just moments we transition from slumber to readiness all because of the shower. Sure, a bath can have some of the same effects. But nothing kicks you in gear like a shower. Once you make the decision to step into the water you are committed. But that commitment is worth the effort.

In a totally different sense, we face decisions daily in which we must choose to step behind the veil into the presence of the Almighty. Just as the shower affects our natural being, a Holy Ghost outpouring will rejuvenate our spiritual being. The hard part is not getting the shower started, its in getting ourselves into position to receive its benefit.

You may be stumbling about today with a clouded mind and bad taste in your mouth, but if you will listen you may be hear the showers calling you closer. There is a refreshing shower awaiting you. Enter in.
