The first task completed does not bring rest to our searcher. The treasure must be located in the field and there is no indication of where it is hid. Again the treasure seeker must turn to God for the location. However the task of uncovering the treasure belongs to the seeker. Once he has found it hidden he has to hide it again for he doesn’t own the field. It cannot be removed either due to its size, being too much for one man to carry or because its value to thieves that might rob him and take it away. He is still frustrated until he can buy the field in which it is hidden.
The owner of the field notices the eagerness this man has to buy the piece of property. Suddenly the field which the world held in little value has a great price. It cannot be bought for a few dollars. It cannot be bought on time payments. It is so expensive it cost him everything he has. His bank accounts are emptied, the house sold and all the tools of his trade are gone. Still he doesn’t have enough money. Next he rids himself of all his food, and finally all his clothes. He stands there hungry and naked with the cash in hand. How foolish he looks. His family disdains him for they have been put in the same position by his actions. Everyone in the world things he is a fool for paying so much for a worthless piece of land. The owner of the field gladly takes the payment. At last he has his prize.
