TITLE: Lost and Found

For years I have struggled with my sense of direction. My husband, like most men, just chalks it up to my being a woman but I know plenty of women who have no problem finding their way around. I admit that I am probably the worst of the worst when it comes to finding an address. I have lived in the same city for over forty years and still have to get the map from the phone book to figure out how to get to an address. My husband, on the other hand, will not ask for directions unless he has been “lost” for at least a half hour.

For all of you out there who can relate to this problem I have good news! There are some directions that I have struggled with my entire life but there is one kind of direction that comes naturally to me that many have never found; the directions that leads us to the Lord. Once we have those directions we can follow the path of life that that was meant for us and that my friend, will make all the difference. God gave us His road map of solid direction called the Bible. It was written to help those who are lost and for those who are found, it was meant to keep us on the right path.

The first step in the right direction is the ability to be able to face the Lord and admit that we are lost and in need of direction. The second step is to ask for help. Both can be very difficult steps to take, for in order to do so, we must admit we don’t have all the answers. Once we realize we can’t do it alone, the journey has begun.

God is waiting for each of us to humbly come before Him and admit that we don’t really know the way. He longs to be invited into our lives, and when He is, He will always be there to give us direction in all circumstances. He has made a path for each of us to take in this life. We have a choice, we can choose to go our own way which often leads to stress, sadness, anger and confusion, or we can ask our Creator directions for a smoother ride. Which would you chose?
