Of love for John and Jeannie
That she thought would last eternally.
But the bliss, tenderness, and special looks
Time and circumstances eventually took.
Now, Jeannie’s days pass with many a care
And John’s getting bald, she, grey hair.
Life has a different view... looking back
She often wonders, “Where?”
“Where did John and I get off the “love track”?
Was it when they were struggling to survive
While providing for their children?
Times were hard, and they
Neglected each other, because...of exhaustion.
Now, years have passed,
All five of their children are grown.
John and Jeannie are alone.
She wonders how John can be
So near, yet, so far away.
She prays, that maybe in time
That they can find
A way to rekindle the “spark”
She feels must still be there
And then each one might open up
to “heart communication”.
Jeannie recalls their “marriage vows”
Made many years ago, to each other and to God . She smiles.
Yes! Yes! God knows and is still in control.
It has been John and I
Who have been out of God’s will.
With a renewed commitment within, she can hardly wait
For John to come home from work this night.
Surely he will sense her enthusiasm
And be drawn again like a magnet
To the woman he still loves....
Then Romance will offer Jeannie and John...
A second chance, with Love.
